Grass all in!

So excited we don't have any more mud to play with! Aubrey screamed: "Graaaaassss!, mom! Daddy bought the grass form Santa, Horay!" I couldn't negate that one so I played a long. Ryan is her hero forever now :) I just love how Aubrey mixes fantasy world with reality. 

AND GRASS AT LAST!

 And grass at last! This was a very happy day at the Wolsey home :) Ryan couldn't help it so helped a little here and a little there while the grass was being laid down. He didn't have to do a thing but he was so excited he started raking with the rest of them. Just cracks me up...he really loves yard work! He would have laid down the sod with the help of his brothers and dad but he has a double hernia, probably the last recommended activity for him until they get fix.

 And 9,000 square feet of grass. Our yard is a National Park! Oh my word! We had no idea we needed this much. Just glad we won't have to worry about our yard being done again. Just maintaining it which is going to be quite a bit of work. Let's face it; Saturday mornings are going to be pretty shot during the good weather. 

 I told you he was raking away with his nice shoes, jeans and shirt :) 

~ TYPICAL OF AUBREY ~

These are some things that are typical from Aubrey and I just thought it would be good to remember them in the future:) 

You can count on her falling asleep in this position 90% of the time. It just cracks me up how she just craves comfortable in bed this way. She wakes up with a big knot in the back of her head because she sleeps in her back...The funny thing is that I am a back sleeper as well so she definitely gets that from me :) ha! 

 And she loves to try on my glasses, jewelry  shoes, clothes, put on my make up...long story short she claims my stuff to be also hers. She doesn't feel an ounce guilty at all (even though I have tried to let her know what can and can't she touch). She looks darn cute on those glasses for sure though! 

 And she has a thing for oven mittens. She thinks they are snow boots. I know this looks horrible, right? A kitchen item that handles food on the floor...but I try really hard to catch her before hand on this one. My mittens get washed quite often too...Just an Aubrey thing I guess :)

And loves loves and..did I say she absolutely loves! to search oldies songs with dad on the computer and dance to them with him? yeah, she likes modern music as well although oldies really get her going. How funny! She will want to know of this one day...I just know it :)

BUT...WHY?

It isn't often that I post to share my feelings or disappointments.  I just think that life is too much fun sometimes to worry about the sad stuff and write them down. But today, I have to share.
I long awaited this election. I was convinced a good change will take place in our country. Thought that Mitt Romney had it. And, most important of all, that most Americans will want to move forward as a country and restore the damaged done as well. But, unfortunately it didn't happened this way. I was so deeply sad. I mean, I have been raised in a socialistic and democratic environment in Spain my whole and, I am pretty sure I left that behind me for a reason. I don't fit into that political mentality nor lifestyle. I felt bad for all of those young kids that voted not knowing yet what it is to pay bills and carry much financial responsibility.  I also feel bad for all those Hispanics that want something for nothing, that could have also voted illegally as reported in the news. All those Americans also that want to live off the government and not work hard for what their earnings, or skip school and still have a middle class life. It usually doesn't happen that way (only with some exceptions). I just hope that these 4 years pass by fast and that we don't get into war or other big disasters as a country besides a more sinked economy. Just really hope that the next presidential term stars well and with someone willing to repair some of this massive disaster.

~ COMING ALONG ~

 Today our sprinkling system is complete in the backyard. Grading was finished. Curving is now happening..and we might even see grass this Friday. It's a miracle! Poor Ryan, he is working so hard to get this done before weather doesn't let us continue for the year. He is such a hard worker, knows how to coordinate everything and get the best deals! Also, we now have a shed which is almost done too. It has been crazy but so rewarding. Here some project updating pictures :)

This is our front yard being trenched. We now have a walk way (a pretty brown one!) and rock steps, more rocks lining by the walk side...I just can't wait to have my house finished all outside! Good thing our basement was finished when we moved in! I don't think I eve want to go through building a house: it is serious hard work! 

BUSTED!

 Halloween candy has been a real temptation for this little one...i hide it in the pantry but sometimes i forget to close the pantry door. She sneaks in apparently and look what I found!?!

Trick or Treat!

 Ms. Snow White. Love the poses she makes! She has been wearing this dress since I bought it in August. She is into dress up now, princess dresses if possible. She loved going trick or treating! Me and Ryan took turns at driving while the other knocked a few doors and so on. She scored big time with candy! She is so pretty! Just love her blue eyes and pretty blond hair. She does look like a princess! :)

P.S. Aubrey caught up with what trick or treating was about. She didn't walk from door to door, she ran to them! She loved to also chat with the candy givers. She knew to say: "Trick or treat" and "Happy Halloween, thanks for the candy". P.S. 2 I was sure relieved to see that Bro. Capener gave out Toothbrushes. It made me feel better about the amount of candy Aubrey got :)

 Dinner in a pumpkin. This is our Halloween dinner tradition for 2 years now. It is so yummy that we have seconds and thirds! Some of the ingredients are: ground beef, onion, rice, cream of mushroom soup, some spices, veggies and more. You let it bake in the oven for about 1 1/2 hrs and it is so delicious! We eat it with bread bowls. 

 I made this pumpkin crumble for dessert. It was just heavenly. It has a soft crust at the bottom, pumpkin filling in the middle and the crumble on top. Glad I didn't make a salad, we would have been to full to eat that too! So, Happy Halloween 2012!

Braces....will I ever be done?

So, long story short I am now working one day a week (love it!) and the dentist that I've worked for since I graduated til about a month ago wasn't really 100% there with my case (it would have been good to know earlier so I would have started with an orthodontist from the start...!) But, he offered braces for free so I couldn't resist and went for it. It's almost been a year. Me and Ryan decided I needed to get the job done right so I am now going to Dr. Broadbent (yes! an orthodontist) and after a consult he decided that my upper arch needed a lot of re-do (lucky me, right) well, today he took all brackets off my upper arch and placed new ones (the ones he feel really comfortable working with since the other ones are really rare...of course). So, no the best experience and quite painful...I got to see my upper teeth without braces for 0.2 seconds, i sighed big time and thought to myself: I can do this, it's going to be so worth it!. Soon after I had those lovely brackets back on again. Fortunately my lower arch wasn't bad enough to start with that Dr. Broadbent can work with it and make it right. One more year, that's right...one more long year possibly less. I can seriously say now that I can not wait to get them off. I wish I would have had them when I was younger...but they don't believe so much in Hollywood smiles in Spain I guess...So, here is how they look. The close up picture is really for my records...or you can think of it as a real scary Halloween one :0 

Baby Belly

Here a snap shot of my very proud belly at 19 weeks and 2 days. I will finally be 5 months this Sunday. Time is now going by really fast. I am just really thankful girl pregnancies are easy on me. I don't get sick at all, just tired and hungry for sure but all has been real well so far. I am hoping to be as diligent taking pictures of the pregnancy journey as I was with Aubrey (I'm not starting real good since this is the first picture yet...). It is so much fun to go back and see what it was like and what I looked like being pregnant. Above a picture of my sweet Aubrey. She is so excited to be wearing her Snow White custom everywhere... Halloween party here and there. Tomorrow is trick or treating and dinner in a pumpkin. Can't wait! Will post more picture then :) P.S. I am not dressing up this year. Not really my thing. Aubrey is super convinced Ryan is going to be a Spider Man. Cool! Can you picture him wearing that custom? I should have bought him that one just to see a 6.6 ft tall man wearing it, right? What little kids say... 

Carving Pumpkins

 We had the Halls over for dinner and some pumpkin carving. The kids had a lot of fun coloring theirs and gluing all sort of fun things to them. Me and Kristen had a good chat. Love to talk about make up, clothes, shoes and  girlie stuff that Ryan wouldn't really like to chat about. Ryan and Landon did the real carving. Ryan's favorite thing though is to roast the pumpkin seeds in the oven with salt and eat them while watching a movie. They are actually pretty tasty! 

 Forgot to snap shots of the final carving job. Landon carved a snowboard guy jumping..pretty cool and Ryan a huge smile. There! 

"Texas De Brazil" Restaurant

Here we are with the Stevenson's (great people! and awesomer friends!). So since Bryce and Ryan served in Brazil we like to eat Brazilian when we get together. This new restaurant is the best! gourmet and delicious all at the same time with the best of Brazil cuisine! Ryan and Bryce revived some of their mission field experiences, hence Ryan's laughing photo. Can't wait to go again! 

Home Improvements

 Our new to be shed. We can't wait to store our water tanks there and have all 3 garage spots to ourselves! 

 Finishing the front yard. These are the rock steps Ryan so much awaited for. He wanted to make sure they were placed correctly so he did with the help of Mario, his friend the machinist.
