EL DUOMO (Cathedral of Florence)
Streets of Florence down town
This is Prince Ewing Castle and its sorrounding statues by michelangelo.
UFFICI PALACE
Ryan took me on a date and gave me my favorite flower (white rose). We were in one of the many bridges that Florence has. I love the water in the background and enjoyed the cool streets singers along the bridge side...so romantic!
MORE UFFICI PALACE (had to come back since we didn't see it all at once)
Definately the smallest smart car we saw! It was funny to see soooooo many of these cars in Italy. Traffic really is a problem and some people make it easier on themselves when it comes to parking.
The Duomo inside. Sooo big and interesting. It was the only cathedral we saw that had a lower level (most of cathedrals have the main level and maybe an upstairs)
We don't have any pictures of Michelangelo Academy where he taugh and instructed his students how to carve out sculptures. There we found the famous statue of David. It was huge and extremely detailed. I was amazed by the proportional body Michelangelo was able to sculpt even being 5 times bigger than a regular human. Also, it was fun to see many other statues that weren't finished since Michelangelo sculpted a hand wrong, unproportional o just ran out of marble and couldn't finish an foot , legs or the head. Just amazing...perhaps my favorite museum ever visited. I found this picture on google an hope you can get a feel for what we saw.
